Last night, I attended the 53rd National Day of Malaysia, held at the Songket Ballroom, Rizqun International Hotel. The guest of honour was the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Ustaz Hj. Awang Badaruddin bin Dato Hj. Othman. In his speech, Dato' Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, the outgoing High Commissioner, highlighted the good bilateral relationship between Brunei and Malaysia. The programmes included a cake cutting ceremony, cultural dances and lucky draw. Several Malaysian companies (Maybank, Worldwide Motors - dealer for Proton, AmInvest Bank, Malaysia Airlines, etc) also showcased their products at the event. The actual date of Malaysia Day was 31st August 2010 but due to the fasting month, it was celebrated last night. Happy Malaysia Day!
