September is a great month to visit the Gold Coast Australia as the weather is cool with temperatures hovering between 18°C (at night) to 25°C (in the daytime). You hardly perspire even when you are walking in the sun! I arrived in Brisbane last night and took a rented car down to the Gold Coast (approximately one hour south of Brisbane) where I stayed at the Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise. There are hardly anyone (or cars) on the streets after 8.00pm. All the shops are closed after sundown except for some convenient stores which opened till midnight. The only "happening" place would be the Jupiters Hotel & Casino where you can still see a decent crowd reveling at the "J Bar" (located inside the casino), not to mention the numerous gamblers!
