During our fifteen and a half years in business, we had witnessed one retirement; Sudan (Housekeeping staff) who retired in December 2012 after 13 years with us. Later this month, two other long serving colleagues will be resigning (not retiring); Marissa (Front Office Supervisor) who has been with us for 15 years and Siti (Housekeeping staff) who has been with us for 8 years. Last night, in recognition of their services and contributions, a farewell party was hosted in our Coffee Lounge for the both of them. Several fun games were organized for the rest of our colleagues and tokens of appreciations were given to Marissa & Siti. As this is a farewell party, no doubt lot's of picture takings were going on among our colleagues with the two guests of honour! Lastly, we would like to wish both of them happiness, good health and prosperity!

This year, our  Christmas Gathering with the PWM fraternity was held on 20th December 2014 at a cosy restaurant in Kiulap, in a private room complete with X'mas decor. The starter was "Sardine with Sicilian Sauce", followed by "Cream of Mushroom Soup". The main course was either the "Lamb Shank" or "Grilled Salmon" and the majority of us opted for the "Grilled Salmon". The dessert was either the "Chocolate Almond Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream" or "Orange Zest Caramel Pannacotta". Sammy, the organizer also arranged a "Dine in the Dark" experience but we didn't get to eat in the dark as we waited too long for the starter and everyone were hungry! There were also restaurant vouchers for the "best dressed" male and female guests and several guests also got restaurant vouchers which were placed under the table by the restaurant staff beforehand. The last item on the programme was the exchange of gifts as Christmas is the season for giving! Everyone of us (there were 17 of us) enjoyed this fantastic evening in the company of awesome friends! 

Marissa's Birthday at Atrium Cafe

Last night we threw a surprise dinner party at Atrium Cafe to celebrate the birthday of our Front Office Supervisor, Marissa. The actual date is today but as we do not want to arouse any suspicions from her, we did it last night. Only twelve of us attended (including the birthday celebrant) and one housekeeping colleague whom we have invited did not attend. The price for the buffet is B$40 plus 10% service charge per person. Luckily, we have a 50% discount voucher (which is due to expire on 15 September 2013) so in actual fact we only paid for six persons! Value for money!

Last night, the Malaysian High Commission hosted a dinner to mark the 56th National Day of Malaysia and all excos of PWM (yours truly included) were invited. The venue was at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom of the Empire Hotel and Country Club and the guest of honour was the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office, YB Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (RTD) Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Muhammad Yasmin Hj Umar and his spouse. After the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and the Acting High Commissioner's welcoming speech, we all tucked into the lavish buffet and almost every guests were busy taking snapshots of one another to remember and cherish this annual event.   

Hari Raya Open House for Pusat Ehsan 2013

Last night we hosted 40 special kids and their minders at Traders Coffee Lounge. This is the fourth year that we are hosting this meaningful event to remind our special friends that they are not forgotten. We were a little worried at first as our Cook was on emergency leave but we managed to pull it off with whatever resources available. This year, more than 40 turned up and our Coffee Lounge was packed unlike last year when less people attended. We were also honoured by Pg. Anak Ruzaini's presence together with other Directors and family members. The Senior Trustee of Pusat Ehsan, Dato' Paduka Alimin Abd Wahab also took time to attend despite his busy schedule. Thank you all for your attendance!
