On the 3rd day of CNY, we departed Batu Pahat around 10.00am to start our journey to Malacca to meet up with Angie's group which started from JB at 9.00am. We caught up with her at the rest station in Tangkak and proceeded to Malacca which was just 30 minutes away. Unfortunately, after exiting the highway, the road leading to Malacca was congested! This traffic jam delayed us for another half an hour! We stayed at the Renaissance Melaka Hotel, a 5-star 272 rooms hotel which dates back quite awhile. Anyway, Malacca is a historical town so everything must be ancient! Room rate starts at RM216++ (without breakfast) but we opted for the rate with breakfast @ RM266++ (with 2 breakfasts). Breakfast was a lavish affair at the Olio Open Kitchen and it's worth paying the extra RM25++ per person for breakfast as most shops outside the hotel were still closed for CNY.
