Last night, I attended Baiduri Bank's Chinese New Year Dinner at the Grand Hall of The Empire Hotel & Country Club, an annual event hosted by Baiduri Bank for its Chinese clients and business partners. The guest of honour was Pehin Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade II. The programmes for the evening were very entertaining with Malaysian artiste, Phoebe Yap as emcee for the evening. Donations were presented to several schools in Brunei by the GM of Baiduri Bank. There were also a magic show by TS Siow and a hilarious performance by "Broadway Ah Beng" a.k.a. Sebastian Tan and his three over-sized dancers from Singapore. The highlight of the evening was the lucky draw in which a Rolex watch, a laptop and and an iPhone were given away to three lucky winners. Thank you, Baiduri Bank for such a memorable and wonderful evening!

Mock-Up Bathroom @ Traders Inn

Remember my post on 24 October 2009 regarding the proposed renovation at Traders Inn? Well, we prepared a mock-up bathroom which was completed just before Chinese New Year (sorry for the late update). The actual job was done by Jurum Interiors Sdn Bhd and most of the materials used were from China! Having said that, I must say the quality of the products are pretty good and the designs are up-to-date and modern. Hopefully, the full scale renovation of the bathrooms will commence soon!

The Launching Ceremony!

The Lion Dance.

This morning, Baiduri Bank organised a function at Indera Kayangan Ballroom, The Empire Hotel & Country Club to launch the acceptance of China UnionPay cards in Brunei. The Guest of Honour (GOH) was Dato Hamdillah, the Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources. The GM of Baiduri Bank and First Executive Vice President of China UnionPay each gave their welcoming speech respectively followed by the signing ceremony, the launching ceremony by the GOH and presentation of souvenirs to the GOH. Four dancing lions made an entrance at the end of the launching ceremony which concluded the programme for the day. Does that mean I can start withdrawing my money using my Bank of China ATM card now? I definitely would like to try it out later!

CNY Decor @ NBT (Night Scene)

These pictures were taken last night (Chap Goh Meh) at around 11.00pm at NBT (B) Sdn Bhd and yes, there were fireworks being let off that night but I couldn't capture those shots! The timing was wrong and the fireworks were let off in all sorts of different directions. The fireworks in my pictures were added on using "adobe photoshop" to give the pictures more "flavour & spice" and it looked better too! (Sorry for cheating! LOL..)

Wu Chun, Brunei's Very Own Superstar!

Wu Chun is Brunei's very own superstar, with a huge following in South-East Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong & China. His first movie was "Butterfly Lovers" with Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) of "Twins" and most recently; "14 Blades" with Donnie Yen. He also acted in several Taiwanese dramas and is part of the Taiwanese band, "Fahrenheit".

Hong of Maju Motors.

Spencer Lim (look at that smile!).

Last night, I had two Chinese New Year open houses to attend to; one was at Jalan Ban 3 (Alex Lo's open house @ 7.30pm) and the other one at Kg. Mata-Mata (Hong's open house @ 9.30pm) just behind my house. I attended both functions and I had my camera ready for both occasions but didn't take any pictures! We were watching a DVD in Hong's theatre room when I received a call from Hong to pick him up at Wu Chun's house! He was test driving Wu Chun's Lamborghini with the Technical Manager of Eurosports Lotus, Mr. Eyu. Of course, we grabbed the opportunity to take a few pictures with Wu Chun who happens to be home (Wu Chun came back to Brunei for Chinese New Year and will be leaving today) so we are lucky to "corner" him last night! LOL...
