Hotel Sarangnova is a new boutique hotel located right in the centre of Gaya Street, Kota Kinabalu. Prior to its soft opening on 15th August 2009, I've the opportunity to accompany its partner cum Managing Director, Mr. Chhan, on several sourcing trips to Guangzhou and I must say that Mr. Chhan has done a fantastic job of converting an old run-down backpackers' lodge into a modern hotel. It is probably the first and only hotel in Sabah (if not Malaysia) with each room featuring a different species of bird complete with a description of each species on the wall of each room. Congratulations, Mr. Chhan!
