It has become somewhat of a tradition that we (colleagues at Traders Inn) go for "sungkai" (breaking of fast) at least once during the month of Ramadhan. One was planned at Misato Japanese Restaurant (MJR) last night by the F&B staff and initially 20 colleagues were invited but only 14 of us turned up! This is the first time we had our "sungkai" at MJR and the buffet costs B$14.90 each while additional orders are chargeable but with a 20% discount. My colleagues wanted to go for a movie (Total Recall) after "sungkai" but unfortunately I've seen this movie in Kota Kinabalu last Sunday. Sorry, guys (and gals)!

We watched the movie "Total Recall" here
There's a sale going on in Kota Kinabalu when we were there on a 2D/1N trip recently (4-5 August 2012). Some shops were offering up to 70% discount on selected items and I managed to buy two squash rackets (Prince and Tecnifibre), a pair of Polo leather shoes, a sling bag, three Padini T-shirts, two pairs of "Cheetah" shorts, vitamins and some foodstuff; all in a matter of a few hours at Suria Sabah, a relatively new shopping centre in KK. On the second day, we visited the Sunday Market at Gaya Street. Later in the morning we took a taxi to 1Borneo where we spent a couple of hours before heading back to the hotel. After checking out of the hotel at 2.00pm, we went to watch a movie, "Total Recall" which was screened at 2.25pm (just nice) at Golden Screen Cinemas in Suria Sabah. We loitered around the shopping centre after the show before heading back to Le Meridien to pick up our bags and finally to the airport to catch our flight which was scheduled at 7.35pm. I can't wait to get home to watch the Olympic gold medal match between Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan scheduled to commence at 8.00pm! Click here for more photos.

Le Meridien Hotel @ Kota Kinabalu
My complimentary lunch (rib-eye steak) at Circle Cafe
The view from our room
The reason we stayed at the Le Meridien was that the complimentary room voucher was going to expire this month! We were also being treated to a free lunch at the Circle Cafe upon arrival, compliments of the hotel as James has been a Starwood Privilege Member for the past 7 years! Le Meridien is located right in the city centre with several shopping centres around it. Gaya Street, renowned for its Sunday market, is also within walking distance from the hotel. We requested for a late check-out and was granted an extension till 2.00pm the next day; better than nothing!

PWM Blood Donation Drive @ Traders Inn
Breakfast served at Traders Coffee Lounge.
Jimmy Chung, the first donor
Mr. Tay being examined by the doctor
PWM held a blood donation drive for the first time at Traders Inn this morning from 9.30am to 12.30pm. I wanted to donate but unfortunately I was not suitable as I was anaemic. This is the first time I was rejected! I must resume taking my iron supplements immediately. Nevertheless, I stayed on for more than an hour before rushing off to the airport to catch a flight to Kota Kinabalu which was scheduled to take off at 11.35am!
