Collected my Finishers' Medal on 13-6-2013
Returned last night from Kuala Lumpur via BI874 which touched down at 11.40pm; reached home well after midnight and after 3 hours of sleep, I went to the Indoor Stadium to participate in Pusat Ehsan's "The Run", a charity event which was being organised for the second year in a row. I took part in the 12 km veteran run which flagged off at 6.00am and I managed to complete the run at 7.32am. More than 7,000 runners participated this year in the various categories, ie. 2km, 5km, 12km and 21km. After the 10km mark, I started experiencing cramps on both my calves and at the finishing line, I was feeling a bit dizzy! Sat down on the kerb for almost half an hour before I felt better and drove home for a hot shower and that much needed sleep! Finishers' medals were not distributed on the spot but instead a slip was given to claim the finishers' medal from 13 to 15 June at the Indoor Stadium.

Kuala Lumpur, Food Haven!

Yes, you can describe Kuala Lumpur (KL) as a food haven as it offers so much choices and varieties from hawker fare to fancy restaurants; KL has it all. Below is a list of restaurants I visited during my three days two nights' stay in KL.

Lunch at Shanghai Restaurant, JW Marriot Hotel

Breakfast at Jin Xuan Hong Kong Restaurant, PJ
With Azmi, my old friend from RBA, KL
 With Amy & Siew Siew

Tea Break at Madam Kwan's Cafe, Pavilion
We tried its famous Nasi Lemak, not bad!

Lunch at Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh, Pavilion
Quite expensive but then again the rent here is high!
Mr. Chia & yours truly

Dinner at Ducking Restaurant, Pavilion
Had dinner here for two nights! 1st night I didn't take any photos

Last minute bite & drink at Fauchon Le Cafe, KLIA before boarding the flight back to Brunei
 Black Pepper Chicken Sandwich

Piccolo Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Stayed at the Piccolo Hotel for two nights from 6 to 8 June 2013 during my last trip to Kuala Lumpur and I find this hotel very cosy, the interior design appealing and the ambience soothing. Conveniently located in the tourist belt of Bukit Bintang, it is within walking distance to Sungei Wang Plaza, Pavilion, Lot 10, Starhill Plaza, JW Marriot, Westin Hotel, etc. What I like most is the clean room which has every amenity (in-room safe, full range of toiletries, mini bar, iron) found in 5 star hotels minus the cost! It also has free wi-fi which most 5 star hotels would be charging! I would definitely come back to the Piccolo Hotel on my next trip to Kuala Lumpur!

Courtesy Call on Pehin Lau Ah Kok

Yesterday, The President of PWM, Mr. James Lee and several members paid a courtesy call on Pehin Kapitan China Kornia Diraja Dato Paduka Lau Ah Kok at his residence at Kg. Manggis, Jalan Muara. Prior to our visit, we were being informed that we are not to wear black attire for the visit. The 95 years old Pehin is a respected Chinese leader in Brunei Darussalam and the founder of the Hua Ho supermarket chain which currently has ten branches in Brunei Darussalam. Besides his supermarket business, Pehin Lau also has businesses in agriculture and poultry farming. Throughout our hi-tea session, Pehin talked about his life, his achievements and his principles in doing business. Integrity, loyalty and honesty is what he preaches to us and he also emphasizes to us not to drink, smoke or gamble (good advice). This is the first time I had the opportunity to meet Pehin and his humility moved me and we wish Pehin the best of health!
