Food Testing @ Emperor's Court

Last night, we tested the food at Emperor's Court for our upcoming Chinese New Year Gala Dinner which will be held on 23rd February 2013 at the Ballroom of Manggis Mall. A press release was also scheduled so everyone of us brought our CNY batik uniforms along for the group photo. The various media representatives were also invited for the dinner but they left after three courses!

Dumbo Portuguese Restaurant (小飞象)

 Han Chiok
Dumbo Portuguese Restaurant (小飞象) is situated a short distance from Cunha Bazaar where you can buy Macau's famous biscuits, pastries and grilled meat, not to mention the numerous restaurants around this area. This restaurant is located on the first floor and the entrance to the restaurant is located on the left side of the building. We were lucky to get a table as the restaurant was packed last Saturday when we were there. Overall, the food was nice, especially the pork chop. We ordered a  bottle of Portuguese "Mateus Rose" wine to go with our meal and that was good! The Chinese name for this restaurant is "little flying elephant" and is not related to the name "Dumbo" at all so I did a bit of digging and guess what; "Dumbo" is the name of Walt Disney's animated film released in 1941 featuring (you guessed it!) a flying elephant!

Nanyang Seascape Hotel, Zhuhai

Chiok & Koh waiting at the lobby
Chinese restaurant near the lobby
Nanyang Seascape Hotel is a 268 rooms, 4-star hotel located within walking distance from Gongbei Port in Zhuhai. It's a great hotel with a very "Chinese" feel as most of the products used were made in China. It has a very grand entrance with huge pillars with a high ceiling in the lobby to add to its grandeur. One feature that I like most is the free high speed wi-fi internet access available throughout the hotel which doesn't even need a password!

Sheraton Macau, Cotai Central

The lift lobby on the 16th floor.
One of the entrances; took this photo while in a moving bus as we were leaving the hotel.
Sheraton Macau, Cotai Central is the largest hotel in Macau and also the largest Sheraton hotel worldwide with 3,896 rooms and suites. The other two hotels in the same complex are Conrad Macau and Holiday Inn Macau. We stayed at the Sheraton Macau for one night on 12 January 2013 on our way back to Brunei and being a Saturday, the rate was B$320-00 nett without breakfast. The rooms are new as the Sheraton Macau only opened last September, less than four months ago. I quite like the colour scheme of the rooms and common areas which is bright and appealing. It even has a speakers dock for iPhones (or iPods) on the night table for you to charge your iPhones and listen to the music from your iPhone at the same time!
